May 30, 2010, Feast of the Most Holy Trinity

“… in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

1. Proverbs 8:22-31
2. Romans 5:1-5
3. Gospel of John 16:12-15

REFLECTION: Two special Sunday celebrations follow immediately upon Pentecost. The first of these is Trinity Sunday. For six months we have celebrated the great mysteries of our faith. Now on Trinity Sunday, we turn our attention to the source of all these, to the indescribable, ineffable One from whom all creation, all salvation, and all consolation and all blessings flow, the Three-in-One, Father, Son and Spirit.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

What is your favorite name or image of God? Reflect on this.

Write a prayer to God, the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit brings order and harmony to the world. Do something today with your family to bring order or harmony in your home or community.

Pray the Mysteries of Light with the Rosary. Pray for all those who are being confirmed this year.

Do something today for the needy to show you are a Christian.

Name and reflect upon the three most important things about your family.

Blessed be God our Father,
Blessed be his Son, Our Lord;
Let us praise the Holy Spirit,
Let us sing to Him, adored.
